You started a blog, and you’re wondering where all the traffic is. Patience is virtue. If you are writing your blog only to build an audience, you are writing for the wrong reason. Write your blog because you enjoy the topic with which you are writing. You should not worry about the number of hits your site does or does not receive.
Write as if no one is reading. Use correct grammar, but write freely. By doing so, your posts will be more personal, and your readers will feel more connected to you and your blog.
Visitors to your blog are an added incentive. Having a blog does not guarantee readers. As long as you stick to the basic guidelines, your blog will eventually build an audience. Stay on track. Don’t get discouraged if your blog is not recruiting thousands of visitors within its first week. Continue to be active with your blog no matter how many visitors your blog is recruiting.
Do, however, market your blog whenever you get a chance. Put a link to it in your email signature. Mention it in conversations when talking about the industry. Use it as a medium to continue conversations about industry topics and idea.
